Hello Paris!

Nice to see you again. Remember the boy I told you I fell in love with? Well, I didn't work out. His parents opposed because my status as a governess. To make it worse, I lost my position as governess to that family. It's okay..life moves on. I am now in Paris. Paris is a wonderful place full of culture and beauty. You should visit it one day. Since my sister is already in Paris as a gynecologist, I followed her. At first I didn't want to go because I couldn't afford the tuition over there. While I was still in Warsaw, I still tutored people. I studied at Floating University. What I enjoyed the most was going to my cousin's laboratory in the Warsaw Museum of Industry. There, he encouraged me to study physics. On the weekends, he would allow my to conduct experiments in the lab that dealt why physics and chemistry. In October 1891, I decided to go to Paris after all. My brother-in-law, sister and I lived together for a while until I found my own place. At Paris, I enrolled at Sorbonne as a student in the physics. I was one of the 23 women out of 1825 students. The guys over there did not treat my equally just because I was a girl. My future plans were to just become a teacher just like my parents. Like every student, I still had to pay tuition so during the day I would be studying and in the evening I would be tutoring other people.
